Hey there, I’m Amanda Bright. I’m a creative working and living in London.

Since graduating from the world-renowned Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2003, I have been working regularly in theatre, TV and Film. Performing in a variety of productions from Shakespeare’s Globe to Netflix.

I am also a writer - a graduate of both the Soho Theatre Young Writers Programme & Royal Court ‘Critical Mass’ writers programme. Since founding TeamSASS Productions in 2019, I have written and produced four independent short films and created films for clients including Shakespeare’s Globe, Little Angel Theatre, BBC Radio 4, BBC Sounds, BBC Ideas, The Open University, Krispy Kreme and Xbox.

My first narrative short, The Lennox Report - written, produced & filmed during the first UK lockdown - has received five and four star reviews, been selected for 24 national and international film festivals, qualified for BAFTA entry, received several honourable mentions, has been awarded ‘Best Ensemble’ at the Independent Shorts Awards in LA and won ‘Best Romantic Comedy Screenplay’ (Canadian Diversity Film Festival 2021). Initially released on YouTube, my 2019 short, ‘Dear Afro’ - an autobiographical love letter to loving natural hair - has been screened at Picturehouse Central, London as part of the inaugural The New Black Film Network EXPO event in May 2022 and was also screened at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London in October 2022, as part of their ‘Wash Day’ event. 

A level 6 in British Sign Language and an ADA trained audio describer, I’m passionate about making the arts accessible to all. I relish opportunities to integrate my access skills with my acting work.

I am also the Founder / Director of Arts Bridge Charity. An arts-based educational charity which uses the arts as a bridge to learning in ‘hard-to-reach’ communities who have little to no access to creative activities. 

I feel very lucky to do what I love for a living and relish the opportunities that come my way.
